In 1993, IPSA International was established as the investigative and consulting division of a large contract security company, American Protective Services (APS). IPSA’s start included two small offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles. In 2000, IPSA became IPSA International, Inc., a stand-alone entity. In 2005, IPSA was acquired by a group of its senior management team, led by President & CEO Dan Wachtler. IPSA was purchased by root9B Technologies, Inc. in February 2015, and operates as a wholly owned subsidiary with Dan Wachtler remaining as IPSA’s CEO.
