The Centre for Financial Services and IPSA International Announce MSB Certificate Program

Toronto, Ontario, March 14, 2008 – The Centre for Financial Services (CFS) at Seneca College is pleased to announce the Financial Services Compliance Administration (FCA) certificate program, the latest in a series of national and international academic and professional programs developed by CFS and members of the financial services community. The CFS has been successful in working with the banking and investment community in the design and delivery of a national graduate certificate program in Financial Services Compliance Administration (FCA).

One of the program's strengths is its concentration on all aspects of anti-money laundering compliance administration. FCA graduates have the capability to write AML policy and procedures manuals, act as front line compliance managers and conduct internal compliance audits. The program has met with considerable success in the financial services community. The CFS is now poised to leverage its expertise in academic program design and delivery into a national professional development partnership with IPSA International Inc.(IPSA), a risk advisory firm. The CFS has been retained by IPSA to design a series of AML training and professional development materials that will service the emerging needs of the North American Money Service Business (MSB) community.

Professor John G. Kelly, Business Development Coordinator for the CFS and director of the project welcomes the opportunity to leverage the centre’s expertise in applied research development into an innovative package of professional development tools for the MSB market. “The applied research we’ve conducted in the AML area has indicated a clear and present need for hands on materials that will integrate AML compliance with best business practices. We’re extremely pleased to be the development partner for these much needed management support tools that IPSA will be providing to the MSB market.”

Founded in 1993, IPSA International provides clients in the corporate, financial and legal communities with high-end investigative consulting services through offices in the United States and Canada as well as a network of associates located in over 75 countries. IPSA's preferred practice areas are: Anti-Money Laundering, Intellectual Property, Asset Location, Fraud Investigations and Due Diligence services.

IPSA recognizes that a need exists for the Money Service Business Industry to have a standardized training program to ensure MSB organizations, who capitalize on the availability of this offering, will be in compliance with AML and Anti-terrorist financing legislation and regulations throughout the world. IPSA CEO, Dan Wachtler stated, “This partnership enables IPSA International to take a prominent role with a leading educational institution in Seneca College and offer our industry a proactive solution to their AML and Anti-terrorist Financing obligations. IPSA looks forward to working with Seneca with the goal of formalizing a certificate program and hopes of bringing fresh, talented perspectives to this ever evolving challenge.”
