HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW YOUR CUSTOMERS?

Zhenli Ye Gon, a successful Chinese-born businessman and nationalized Mexican, lived in a posh Mediterranean-style home in Lomas de Chapultepec, Polanco, Mexico. He owned and operated Unimed Pharm Chem, one of the largest importers of chemicals in Mexico. However, earlier this year, Mexican authorities raided his home and seized over $200 million dollars in cash, arrested his wife and six other individuals. Gon was not there. A frequent visitor to gambling establishments, he was reportedly in Las Vegas at the time. Since the seizure, there have been charges of corruption against Mexican senior political figures and the DEA is investigating whether Gon laundered money through the U.S banking system.
