IPSA Announces Management Changes: CEO Keating Adds President Title; DEA Vet Chretien Promoted to VP, International; Wachtler Named VP Sales & Marketing
SAN FRANCISCO, December 3, 2002 - IPSA International, a leading risk consulting firm, today announced that it has reorganized its top management team to reflect its current business strategy. Chief Executive Jamie Keating has added the President's post to his responsibilities; Craig Chretien, a Managing Director in the company's Los Angeles office, has been promoted to Vice President, International Operations; and Dan Wachtler, a Vice President responsible for IPSA's Western Operations, will become Vice President of Sales and Marketing, a new position. In addition, the company's San Francisco Bay Area office, where Mr. Keating is based, will now serve as the firm's headquarters.
The appointment of Mr. Chretien, who has a strong background working overseas, strengthens the company's international division, which is expected to be the source of much of the company's growth in the future. Mr. Wachtler's shift was made to fulfill the objectives set forth in IPSA's strategic plan.
As part of the reorganization, Russ Owens, who had been President, and Rodney Bierman, formerly VP International Operations, will be leaving the firm. "We are very grateful to Russ Owens and Rodney Bierman, who made many contributions to IPSA during their tenure, and we wish them well in their future endeavors," said Mr. Keating. "These changes in management will help us as we move to the next stage in our company's development and seek to build upon the strong foundation we have established in the international risk consulting arena."
Mr. Keating has been CEO of IPSA for three years, and has overseen its growth into one of the leading international risk-consulting firms by assembling one of the industry's strongest teams of professionals. In his new role, he will focus much of his attention on managing the U.S. operations.
Mr. Chretien is a 25-year veteran of the Drug Enforcement Administration, where he retired as the Assistant Administrator of Intelligence, one of the most senior positions in the agency. For a number of years, he was responsible for all DEA activities in 54 foreign countries as Chief of International Operations. He had resident assignments as the DEA country attaché in Brazil, Bolivia and Peru.
Mr. Wachtler is a 10-year industry veteran who has served in both sales and operational management roles. Since coming to IPSA he has overseen the company's western operations. In his new role, he will lead IPSA's worldwide sales and marketing efforts and aggressively expand its strategic partnership programs.
